BALD BOOKS
The Publisher

Books about a culture while it is still in motion.

Founding idea

BALD BOOKS was founded to publish archival books in the context of the graffiti writing movement — preserving its history — as well as photobooks by the founder Ruediger Glatz and friends.

Ruediger Glatz

Ruediger Glatz is an artist, photographer, publisher, entrepreneur and writer. Work related to graffiti — portraits of the scene, its protagonists and its imagery — appears under the name ruedione. His other artistic and photographic work is published under his own name, Ruediger Glatz. As a publisher he initiates projects that are continued by independent editorial and curatorial teams.

Under his own name, Ruediger Glatz understands his images as conceptual portraits — of places, milieus or a certain feeling. What interests him is the moment in which an attitude becomes visible.

Ruediger Glatz is a co-founder of Montana Cans, CEO and co-founder of COLLEKTON, and currently holds the chair of the German Photographic Society (DGPh).

Transparency principle

We consistently label when a book is initiated by Ruediger Glatz but neither curated nor edited by him. This separation is part of how we work — not an addendum.
